Different Types Of Carpets Available
Wool – Is a natural fibre carpet that has built a reputation for its quality and long-lasting durability. Wool Carpets are also great at helping to retain heat (With the rise in energy bills, this could be a great choice).
Polypropylene – A very popular and versatile fibre that offers some superb features, such as being stain-resistant; Making it a strong carpet choice for those with children.
Nylon – A carpet made from synthetic material; one that is rather favorable. This comes as no surprise given its wonderful features, such as: It’s highly durable, keeps its shape, and offers stain resistance. Let’s not forget to mention it is also hypoallergenic – Which is fantastic for anyone who has allergies.
Wool Blend – Is usually made from 80% Wool and mixed with 20% Synthetic fibres. These wool and synthetic blends offer the resilience and durability found in synthetic fibres, as well as the natural appearance and luxurious feel of wool.
Sustainable Carpets – A reasonably new sustainable carpet choice; made from recycled fishing nets. Check out Sedna for more information on these ‘upcoming’ incredible carpets. Fantastic for those who desire change.
Picking the right type of carpet for your home
Carpets are still a very popular choice. In fact, carpet is definitely my preferred flooring choice for most rooms in the house. (There is nothing better than sinking your toes into a soft warm carpet). When picking a carpet for your home, it is important to think about the style you’re wanting, and whether the carpet is suited for the room you intend it to be fitted. (The carpet type suited for each room can very, depending on what the room is used for).
Depending on the room the carpet is going, will determine the features you need to review. When choosing a carpet would think about the following;
1) Durability
2) Ease of cleaning
3) Is it stain-resistant
4) Is it pet friendly
5) Thickness and feel
